In January 2025, over 900 students gathered in The Galmont Hotel, Galway for a night of elegance, entertainment, and celebration — the annual University of Galway Comm Ball, produced and managed by Big Boss Events.

With a stunning black and gold theme, top-tier entertainment, and flawless planning, the event set a new standard for the UG Commerce Society.

Guests were welcomed with a sparkling drinks reception, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening ahead. From the very first moment, the black and gold theme was unmistakable — with balloon arches, photo backdrops, and luxe table decor transforming the venue into a sophisticated celebration space.

A full three-course meal was served in the ballroom, accompanied by live jazz music during the starter, adding a classy touch. Meanwhile, our AV and lighting system, enhanced with custom-designed LED screens, gave the room an immersive and modern visual presence.

After dinner, students took part in a “Spin the Wheel” prize segment, followed by a Hollywood Oscars-inspired award ceremony, honouring all of the standout personalities from the year in true glamour. 

The night continued to surprise and entertain with:

• 💪 Hang Tough Challenge
• 💸 Money Cyclone Machine
• 🎉 Non-stop entertainment stations that kept guests moving between laughter, games, and glam moments

After awards, the stage was lit up by the incredible Beat N Keys, delivering a show-stopping performance. This was followed by a high-energy set from Riff Shop Music, before DJ Eoghain Fitz took over to bring the crowd right through to the end of the night. The dance floor was packed from start to finish.
