April 10th, 2025 saw the return of Limerick Student Raceday, and this year’s festival was nothing short of spectacular. Hosted at Limerick Racecourse and produced by Big Boss Events, the day welcomed over 12,500 students from across Ireland — making it the largest student gathering in the country once again.

From 11:30am, the gates opened to perfect weather, electric atmosphere, and seven thrilling flat races that set the tone for a jam-packed day of entertainment. With the sun shining down and excitement in the air, students arrived in full force dressed to impress, ready for an unforgettable experience.

Big Boss Events transformed Limerick Racecourse into a full-scale music and entertainment festival, with multiple themed stages and entertainment areas:

• The Big Boss Top x Spin South West: The festival’s headline hub, hosting the Spin Party with an all-star lineup including Marty Guilfoyle, John Gibbons, and Jen Payne, to name a few. The energy here was unmatched from start to finish.
• The Black Rabbit Tent: Back by popular demand again this year, this tent delivered cutting-edge local talent and entertainment that kept the crowds going all day.
• The Guinness Glass VIP Marquee: This year’s newest addition. Exclusive vibes and live acoustic acts gave this VIP space a laid-back but luxurious feel.
• The Tote Techno Suite: A full transformation of the tote floor into a techno haven, featuring a roster of top DJs spinning underground beats.
• UL DJ Society Takeover in the Munster Suite: UL’s own brought the heat with student-led sets, as well as some local favourites.
• Greenmount Suite VIP: Led by the one and only Richard Lowe, this floor delivered high-energy from the main man himself.

This year’s Best Dressed Lady competition was sponsored and judged by Canella Lane, a large Irish led female retailer,  bringing flair and excitement to the day. Patrick Bourke’s Menswear stepped in for the Best Dressed Male, continuing the tradition of top-tier prizes and style recognition again for 2025.

Blaa Giveaways brought the laughs and hype with live interviews, on-site challenges, and amazing prizes — keeping the crowd buzzing and fully engaged throughout the day.

The day wasn’t just about racing and music. Attendees enjoyed:

• Full food courts and bars 🍔🍕🍻
• Ice cream trucks to beat the sunshine 🍦
• Punching bag competitions for a bit of friendly rivalry 👊
• An amusement park featuring two massive rides that weren’t for the faint of heart 🎢

Big Boss Events were once again proud to have handled full event management, overseeing everything from:

• Logistics, security, and crowd control

Every detail — from the sound systems to signage, food layouts to VIP experiences — was curated to perfection.

With record-breaking attendance, incredible energy, and flawless production, Limerick Student Raceday 2025 raised the bar once again. Plans are already underway to make 2026 even bigger and better — and if this year is anything to go by, you won’t want to miss it.
